What are the advantages of underfloor heating?
Health & Well Being Floor heating advantages are also demonstrated by the fact that an underfloor heating system produces less airborne dust than the amounts associated with radiators and convection currents. This includes dust that gathers behind the radiators and circulates around the room. Ideal for sufferers of asthma or other respiratory issues or people with allergies. Underfloor heating also eliminates dust mites from carpets. Our underfloor heating works silently, unlike traditional radiators which can bang and creak when in use.
No Maintenance As there are no moving parts to our underfloor heating systems, there is little that can go wrong. When correctly installed, pressure testing of the pipes means any potential leaks will have already been identified at an early stage and dealt with prior to screeding/covering. As a result, one more of the advantages of underfloor heating is there are no regular maintenance costs to incur unlike traditional convection heating.
Flexibility of Control Unlike traditional convection heating systems which are typically controlled by a single thermostat, a floor heating system provides the flexibility to control individual rooms via thermostats. These can be easily programmed to meet the demands of a particular area instead of wasting energy and money heating areas of the property which are used less frequently than others. Our systems can be controlled remotely via an app when home or away.
Freedom of design Heating your floor space allows you the freedom to design your room layout as you please. You have the flexibility to locate your furniture and redecorate as you wish, suiting your changing lifestyle needs and not the location of traditional radiators. You’re also still free to choose the floor type that you want as floor heating works well with laminate, wood, tile, stone, carpet and more.
Is underfloor heating expensive?
Underfloor heating can be seen a luxury addition to any property and may add value to your property, for this reason people often think it might be expensive but in actual fact its often cheaper than you think.
The exact cost will depend on what system you need, the size of the area the types of controls you choose but is often cheaper than modern central heating systems. Our systems can even be fitted to your current boiler to be used as the primary source of heat in a home, or in combination with radiators.
Underfloor heating is also a cheaper alternative long term as underfloor heating produces radiant heat which is more energy efficient than convection heating – reducing your heating bills.
Underfloor heating is vrtually maintenance free meaning no annual servicing, no bleeding the system because air has become trapped inside, no changing of rusty radiators and so on.
Can I install underfloor heating in an older property?
We specialise in designing and installing underfloor heating in older properties. If you do not have enough floor height we use a low profile system which accomodates well for installations in older properties and renovations
What size kit do I need?
There is no set answer for the size requirements of your heating kit, this is wholly dependable on the area required and/or rooms needing to be heated.
