The importance of third party certification in fire suppression design and installation

Legislation in the fire suppression sector is becoming more robust with the recent implementation of BS9251 2021 June this year. However, as fully insured installers and designers we are quick to point towards the national requirement for installation companies to be third party certified to ensure that systems being installed are safe and capable to be effective in the event of Fire.

One of the most important aspects of fire suppression is the system design and the equipment used in installation. Increasingly equipment suppliers are requesting sight of qualifications for proof installation competence and there are welcome moves towards companies being requested to supply third party certification.

As company we frequently get calls from customers who chose price over quality and had rogue installers to complete the installation of their fire protection system which when inspected by building control has not passed the requirements nor is compliant to the British Standard.

QSD are pleased to be third party certified with IFC.

To ensure fire suppression systems are installed to the British Standard they need to be designed and installed by qualified and competent engineers who hold third party certification. For a free quotation contact us today.
